The Hotel Castellana Hilton opened in 1953 as one of the very first international Hotels in Madrid.
From the beginning it was the favorite place for Hollywood Stars visiting or working in and around Madrid.
International Movie Productions blocked entire floors of the Castellana Hilton Hotel in the golden years.
The "Return of the Seven" Production Crew stayed at the Castellana Hilton during the filming on location around Madrid.
Director Burt Kennedy filmed several Scenes outside of Madrid in the old towns of Nuevo Baztan and Colmenar de Oreja.
And they shot all the Studio scenes in Madrid, in the still existing Samuel Bronston Studios (formerly "Estudios Chamartin").
The Hotel Castellana Hilton became part of the InterContinental chain in 1973, as Hotel InterContinental Madrid,
and it has been refurbished twice in the last decade.
Today the InterContinental Madrid is a five star hotel with over 300 rooms.
